This week I taught my Photoshop II students this technique to make complex selections from channels. It's explained in a number of resources, (Photoshop User, Deke McClelland) but I feel it is most clearly explained by Photoshop Diva Katrin Eismann.


These two shots of the lovely showgirl took me about 3 hours EACH to mask out using Katrin's techniques plus do the clean up on the glass and screen. It's not fast, but the results are stunning. I mean, look at all those feathers! I've put a plain layer of color behind the masked images, but the transparency is very good.
